Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced today that Curtis A. Strunk was sentenced by President Judge Janine Edwards to 12 ½ years to 25 years in the State Penitentiary related to a home invasion in Gouldsboro on April 30, 2025. Strunk was found guilty on May 12, 2026, by a Wayne County Jury of Aggravated Assault, Burglary and related charges.
This was a very serious, senseless and violent crime wherein Strunk and his co-defendant Thomas Hermann broke into the victim’s home and Strunk repeatedly bashed the male victim on the head with a heavy metal chair. Ironically, the victims did not know Strunk and Hermann. At trial three (3) eyewitnesses and DNA evidence tied Strunk and Hermann to the crime. Hermann previously plead guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Burglary and was sentenced on February 19, 2026.
District Attorney Howell thanked the Pennsylvania State Police including Trooper Ryan Joyce and the Pennsylvania State Police DNA Laboratory for their excellent work in this case.
