On June 5, 2018, Wayne County District Attorney Patrick L. Robinson announced the arrest of Daniel S. Kemery, age 34 of Beach Lake, and Stephen Cable, age 41 of Honesdale. Kemery was arrested and charged with one count of Conspiracy to Deliver Heroin, a Felony, one count of Delivery of Heroin, a Felony, and one count of Possession of Heroin, a Misdemeanor. Cable was charged with one count of Conspiracy to Deliver Heroin, a Felony, and one count of Criminal Use of Communication Facility, a Felony of the 3rd degree.
The arrests stem from an undercover investigation conducted by detectives from the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office and involved Kemery and Cable selling heroin to another person.
On May 31, 2018, Kemery was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Myers. Bail was set at $35,000.00 and he was remanded to the Wayne County Correctional Facility. His Central Court date was scheduled for June 6, 2018 at 9:00 am.
On June 1, 2018 at 0915 hours, Cable was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Carney. Bail was set at $50,000.00 and he was remanded to the Wayne County Correctional Facility. His Central Court date was scheduled for June 6, 2018 at 9:00 am.
The filing of criminal charges in not evidence of guilt but simply a description of the charge made by the Commonwealth against a defendant. A charged defendant is presumed innocent until a jury returns a unanimous finding that the Commonwealth has proven the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt or until the defendant enters a guilty plea to the charges.
