Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announces cases addressed by the Honorable Janine Edwards, Judge Wayne County Court

HONESDALE, PA- April 8, 2021

 

BRIAN ASPINALL, age 49 of Honesdale Pa, was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to a DUI. He was also ordered to pay all costs, undergo a Drug and Alcohol Evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety program, perform 20 hours of community service and have his operator’s privileges suspended for 60 days. The incident occurred on September 27, 2020 in Salem Township.

 

CHRISTINA BENEDICT, age 26 of Honesdale Pa, previously sentenced on February 25, 2021 to 6 months probation with 72 hours house arrest through the SCRAM program for one count of Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance (M), was resentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 3 months nor more than 6 months for a parole violation.

 

STANLEY BOOTHS, age 46 of Waymart Pa, was sentenced to 3 months probation for one count of Theft of Secondary Metals (M3). He was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution. The incident occurred on January 24, 2020 in Clinton Township.

 

RONALD JOHN DRONGOSKI, age 69 of Coconut Creek FL, was issued a Bench Warrant for failure to appear for a Sentencing Hearing.

 

DAVID A. ISLAS, age 30 of Honesdale Pa, was sentenced to 6 months probation for one count of Harassment (M3). He was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution, have no contact with the victim, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, continue with mental health treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and relinquish any firearms and any ammunition to the appropriate law enforcement agency within 24 hours. The incident occurred on February 24, 2019 in Honesdale Borough.

 

STEPHANIE L. KRESGE, age 38 of Bangor Pa, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 5 months nor more than 23 ½ months for one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition (F3), one count of Resisting Arrest (M2), one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2), and Driving Without Lights to Avoid Identification/Arrest (S). She was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution, pay a fine of $100.00, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, continue with mental health treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and obtain employment within 60 days or provide documentation from a doctor precluding her from employment. The incident occurred on November 25, 2020 in Cherry Ridge Township.

 

FRANK R. LAPKA, age 70 of Carbondale Pa, was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to a DUI. He was also ordered to pay all costs, undergo a Drug and Alcohol Evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety program, perform 20 hours of community service and have his operator’s privileges suspended for 30 days. The incident occurred on November 11, 2020 in Canaan Township.

 

ROBERT GARRIS M. MACALPIN, age 59 of Waymart Pa, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in a State Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 15 months nor more than 36 months for one count of Obstructing Administration of Law or other Law Enforcement (M2) and one count of False Swearing (M3). He was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution. The incident occurred between February 10, 2019 and March 12, 2020 in South Canaan Township.

 

JOHN J. McDONALD, age 50 of Newfoundland Pa, was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to a DUI. He was also ordered to pay all costs, undergo a Drug and Alcohol Evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety program, perform 20 hours of community service and have his operator’s privileges suspended for 60 days. The incident occurred on October 9, 2020 in Sterling Township.

 

JONATHAN M. MILLER age 23 of Damascus Pa, was sentenced to 6 months probation for one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition (M3). He was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and obtain employment within 30 days or provide documentation from a doctor precluding him from employment. The incident occurred on May 31, 2020 in Salem Township.

 

MICHAEL JAMES MORGAN, age 25 of Honesdale Pa, previously sentenced on June 4, 2020 to 12 months probation for one count of Simple Assault (M3), was resentenced to undergo incarceration at the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 3 months nor more than 12 months for a parole violation.

 

LUIS SANTANA, age 33 of Honesdale Pa, was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to a DUI. He was also ordered to pay all costs, undergo a Drug and Alcohol Evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety program, perform 20 hours of community service and have his operator’s privileges suspended for 60 days. The incident occurred on November 6, 2020 in Honesdale Borough.

 

BARRY SIMMONS, age 56 of Tobyhanna Pa, was sentenced to 6 months probation with 15 days house arrest through the SCRAM program for one count of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol (M) and one count of Driving While Operating Privileges are Suspended/Revoked (S). He was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution, pay a mandatory minimum fine of $1,200.00, participate and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment in accordance with his assessment, continue with mental health treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program. The incident occurred on December 5, 2019 in Dreher Township.

 

CHARLES EUGENE ROSS-SMITH, age 23 of Lakeville Pa, was issued a Bench Warrant for failure to appear for a Probation Violation Hearing.

 

MATTHEW STAM, age 20 of Florida NY, was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to a Possession and DUI. He was also ordered to pay all costs, undergo a Drug and Alcohol Evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety program, perform 20 hours of community service and have his operator’s privileges suspended for 60 days. The incident occurred on August 20, 2020 in Sterling Township.

 

 

ALLISON LYNN TERRANOVA, age 41 of Damascus Pa, was sentenced 12 months probation for one count of Retail Theft (S) and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine (M). She was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution, pay restitution in the amount of $70.00, continue with drug and alcohol treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and obtain employment within 30 days or provide documentation from a doctor precluding her from employment. The incidents occurred on June 19, 2020 in Berlin Township and Texas Township.

 

KAITLIN WHITE, age 32 of Milford Pa, previously sentenced on January 3, 2019 to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 2 days followed by 24 months less 2 days in the Intermediate Punishment Program. On September 26, 2019, the defendant was found in contempt and resentenced to 30 days to 23 ½ months in the Wayne County Correctional Facility. The Defendant was resentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for the remainder of her sentence, which is August 21, 2021, for a parole violation.

 

JOHN P. YATSONSKY, age 50 of Newfoundland Pa, was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 12 months for charges related to Terroristic Threats – Violent Crime with Intent to Terrorize. He was also ordered to pay all costs, undergo a Drug and Alcohol Evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, continue with his mental health treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment, attend an anger management program and comply with any recommendations, and perform 20 hours of community service. The incident occurred on June 12, 2020 in Dreher Township.
